Yoga classes and meditation courses for multicultural communities
For reasons of cost, location and cultural differences, migrant women and/or women from a refugee background often miss out on activities designed to improve their mental and physical health. It is also widely acknowledged that people from refugee backgrounds experience significant distress related to pre-migration life events and experiences of resettlement. Depression and anxiety are often cited as being experienced in higher rates by these people compared with the majority population (beyondblue, 2012).
